KOREA

The folk costume of Korean women is called Hanbok. In early days adult women wore it in their daily life. Today they wear it especially at weddings. It consists of top, skirt, underskirt, and they are in various colours. Korea’s folk accessory used by women is called binyeo. When women marry they usually do an uphair with a bynieo. It looks like a long stick and its materials are very various: gold, jade, wood and other jewels. There is also another traditional ornament called noriage. Women ties it to the top. There is one jewel and many strings in it. Women wear it as they believe that if they wear it they can give birth to many babies.
